India’s premier cultural institution, the first multi-venue, multi-purpose cultural centre to be built in South Asia – the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) or NCPA Mumbai was inaugurated in 1969. The result of an ongoing collaboration between the NCPA and the internationally acclaimed Kazakh violinist, Marat Bisengaliev, who serves as the orchestra’s Music Director. It is India’s foremost western classical music ensemble.
